Refund Policy

The XOOX Foundation (hereinafter “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to transparency and fairness in all financial interactions through our Services, including donations, marketplace purchases, token redemptions, and other transactions. This Refund Policy (the “Policy”) outlines the conditions under which refunds may be requested and processed, balancing our non-profit objectives with user satisfaction. This Policy is incorporated into our Terms & Conditions and should be read in conjunction therewith. By engaging in transactions, you agree to this Policy.
1. Overview and Applicability
Refunds are not guaranteed and are granted at our sole discretion, subject to the specifics below. This Policy applies to all monetary and in-kind transactions, excluding irrevocable blockchain operations. We process refunds in compliance with consumer protection laws, such as Korea’s Consumer Dispute Resolution Standards and international equivalents. Refunds do not affect tax deductibility of donations where applicable.
2. Eligibility for Refunds
* Marketplace Purchases:
    * Physical Goods (e.g., pet supplies): Refundable within 14 days of receipt if the item is unused, in original condition, and accompanied by proof of purchase. Return shipping costs are your responsibility unless the item is defective or incorrect. Defective items qualify for full refunds, replacements, or repairs at our option.
    * Digital Goods (e.g., NFTs, virtual rewards): Generally non-refundable due to instantaneous delivery and blockchain immutability. Exceptions may apply for technical errors attributable to us within 48 hours.
* Donations and Contributions:
    * Donations fund pet welfare programs and are presumed irrevocable to ensure program continuity. Refunds are rare but may be considered for errors (e.g., duplicate charges) within 7 days, provided no tax receipt has been issued. Once funds are allocated (e.g., to anti-abandonment campaigns), refunds are unavailable.
* Token Redemptions and Rewards:
    * Points or tokens earned via Services (e.g., walk challenges) are non-refundable but may be exchanged within the platform. Cash redemptions (if offered) are refundable only if unprocessed due to our fault.
* Subscriptions or Recurring Payments: If applicable, cancellable at any time; pro-rated refunds for unused periods within 30 days of request. Refunds are ineligible for: Abusive requests, violations of Terms, or force majeure events.
3. Refund Process
* Submit requests to Info@xooxfoundation.org with:
    * Transaction ID or order number.
    * Detailed reason and supporting evidence (e.g., photos of defective items).
    * Preferred refund method.
* We review requests within 5-10 business days and notify you of the decision.
* Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 14-30 days, minus any applicable fees (e.g., transaction costs).
* Currency conversions use the rate at the time of original transaction.
4. Exceptions and Limitations
* Blockchain Transactions: Due to decentralization, token transfers or smart contract executions are irreversible; no refunds for user errors (e.g., wrong wallet address).
* Promotional Items: Free or discounted items are non-refundable.
* Third-Party Products: Refunds for items from partners follow their policies, with us acting as facilitator.
5. Dispute Resolution
If dissatisfied with a refund decision, you may escalate via our internal appeals process or pursue remedies under applicable consumer laws. We encourage amicable resolution.
6. Amendments to Policy
We may update this Policy; changes are effective upon posting. Continued transactions imply acceptance.
